2017 Explorer
The 2017 Ford Explorer will be available with a new XLT Sport Appearance package, as well as new interior styling and materials. A hands-free rear hatch will be standard on Sport model, while SYNC 3 will be available on the XLT and standard on the Limited, Sport, and Platinum models.
2018 Explorer
For 2018, the Ford Explorer gets some mild restyling including a new grille and fog lights, and a new quad-tip exhaust on models with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. Ford also rolled out five new wheel options and four additional new paint colors. Inside, Ford added a 4G LTE modem that enables the Explorer to function as a Wi-Fi hotspot. A new Safe and Sound package bundles a number of safety features including collision warning and emergency braking with lane keep assist, blind spot warning, cross-traffic warning, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and rain-sensing wipers into a single package on the options list.
